General
1. What is the Rodger Bedwetting alarm system?
The Rodger bedwetting alarm system is a highly effective and user-friendly solution designed to help individuals, especially children, with daytime and nighttime wetting issues. The system includes sensor briefs with integrated moisture-sensitive wires, a sensor, and an alarm unit that alerts the user when moisture is detected by the sensor briefs.
2. How does the alarm work?
The system consists of a transmitter that attaches to the sensor briefs. When moisture is detected, the transmitter activates the alarm unit (receiver) to produce a sound, waking the user to go to the bathroom.
3. Is the Rodger bedwetting alarm system suitable for all ages?
Although the Rodger bedwetting alarm system is primarily designed for children, it can be used by individuals of various ages who experience daytime and nighttime wetting issues. Since it is important for the training to be completed as independently as possible, we recommend a minimum age of at least 4 years.
4. When will I see results?
The time required to see results varies from person to person. Some users may experience improvement within days to weeks, while others may take longer. On average, the training duration is around 3 months. Consistent use and positive reinforcement are key factors for success.
5. Is the Rodger Bedwetting alarm system easy to use?
Yes! The system is designed to be user-friendly. Pair the transmitter with the receiver using the provided instructions or available videos. Attach the transmitter to the sensor briefs. Always test the system as a whole before first use to ensure it is functioning correctly. The alarm unit has adjustable volume and sound settings to accommodate individual preferences.
6. Is the Bedwetting alarm system suitable for deep sleepers?
The receiver has adjustable sound levels that are generally sufficient to wake the user. For very deep sleepers, a vibration cushion is also available. This cushion connects to the receiver and is placed under the user’s pillow, ensuring that even deep sleepers are effectively awakened when the alarm system detects moisture.
7. Is the Rodger bedwetting alarm system safe to use?
Yes, the Rodger bedwetting alarm system is completely safe to use. The transmitter is made from hypoallergenic materials, and the receiver is designed with user safety in mind. There are no electric shocks or discomfort involved in its use.
8. How do I clean the alarm system?
The transmitter can be cleaned with a damp cloth. The receiver can be wiped with a clean, dry cloth. The sensor briefs can be washed at 60 degrees. To ensure the quality of the shorts, we recommend not using a tumble dryer. If using a dryer is necessary, set it to a low temperature. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for cleaning and maintenance.
9. Can I use de bedwetting alarm system while traveling?
Certainly! The compact and portable design of the Rodger bedwetting alarm system makes it suitable for travel. The alarm unit can be powered by electricity or 2 AAA batteries. The plug of the alarm unit can be disconnected so it can easily be placed back in the box. Note: the alarm unit cannot be used with both electricity and batteries at the same time, as this may cause a short circuit in the alarm.

Which product and why?
1. Wich alarm system is suitable for my situation?
We have two systems: the classic wireless bedwetting alarm system and the Amigo portable daytime alarm. The Amigo system is intended for daytime use, while our wireless bedwetting alarm system is meant for nighttime use.
2. How many sensor briefs do I need?
We recommend following the bedwetting alarm training with at least 2 sensor briefs. Once a sensor brief has become wet, it must first be (washed and) dried before it can be used again. Therefore, having a clean and dry brief ready is essential.
3. What is the use of an additional receiver?
The extra receiver is intended for the parents. While it is important for your child to go through the training independently, it is advisable (especially at the beginning of the training) to participate with your child. Parents can “wake up” with their child and help them go to the toilet when the alarm goes off. (Note: It is important that your child is actually awake when going to the toilet at night!) Over time, the intention is for the child to do this on their own. The extra receiver primarily serves as a tool in the initial stages of bedwetting alarm training.
4. What is the vibration cushion used for?
The vibration cushion is a small, round device that you can connect to the bedwetting alarm with a cable. This device is placed under your child’s pillow. It provides a strong vibrating signal when the alarm goes off. This is suitable for children who sleep very deeply and do not wake up to the sound of the alarm.
Note: The vibrating cushion cannot be used when the bedwetting alarm is powered by batteries!
5. What are the Comfy briefs used for?
The Comfy absorbant briefs are a helpful aid during bedwetting alarm training. Especially in the beginning of the training, accidents may still occur. By wearing a Comfy brief over the sensor brief, a wet bed can be prevented. This will provide extra support for your child, who is on the right track!
Note: The Comfy is NOT a diaper!
6. From what age can the Rodger alarm system be used?
We consider 4 years as the minimum age. At this age, it is very normal for a child not to be fully toilet trained at night. Additionally, a certain degree of independence is expected from the child during bedwetting alarm training. It is also important that the child is genuinely motivated to go through the bedwetting alarm training. We find that an intrinsically motivated child often goes through the bedwetting alarm training quickly and successfully. Of course, this will vary from child to child; everyone is different. You are in the best position to assess whether your child is ready for this. We recommend discussing it with your child. Do they understand what they are going to do? Do they understand what they will “gain” from it? Are they personally affected by bedwetting? Do they want to stop it? A good preparation is half the battle.
7. How can I help my child during the training?
Especially in the beginning of the training, it is advisable to get up with your child when the alarm goes off. This helps your child get used to the actions that need to be taken so that they can eventually continue independently. Additionally, this allows you to check if your child is actually awake. Never put your child on the toilet while they are still asleep! By putting your child on the toilet while asleep, it reinforces the idea that the child can wet the bed while sleeping. This will hinder the training, as that is precisely what you are trying to train them out of.
8. Is it guaranteed that my child will be dry after the alarm training?
The success rate of potty training with our wireless bedwetting alarm is approximately 95%. Although the success rate is very high, we cannot guarantee that the training will work for every child. The way the training is conducted, the motivation of both parents and the child, any underlying conditions, and so on, are all factors that influence the chance of success. If there is no improvement after about 3 months, it is advisable to consult your treating physician.
Tips and tricks
1. False alarm
Sometimes, this issue can be resolved by gently stretching the brief both horizontally and vertically. This can help separate the detection wires that have come into contact with each other. If this does not work and the brief was ordered less than 3 months ago, it is still under warranty, and we will replace it.
In this case, please email info@rodger.nl with the following information: your order number and a photo of the barcode of the defective brief. If it concerns multiple briefs, please also mention the number of defective briefs.
If the sensor brief was ordered more than 3 months ago, the warranty has unfortunately expired, and there is you are not entitled to a new brief.
2. Alarm doesn't ring
Are the briefs being used for the first time?
Wash the briefs before first use to ensure maximum absorption of the fabric and remove any coating added during the manufacturing process. We occasionally see that the coating does not dissolve completely during the first wash. This may be because the detergent used is not “aggressive enough” to dissolve the coating.
Are the briefs already in use for a while?
The following issue may be at hand: When briefs are used for an extended period, we see that the sensitivity of the sensor wires can decrease. This happens because residue from urine can remain on the sensor wires, which is not always completely washed away in the washing machine. Over time, this residue builds up, causing the sensor wires to become less sensitive.
This can be easily resolved by taking the following steps:
Soak the brief in warm vinegar water for about 30 minutes (1 cup of vinegar and 2 cups of water). Then rinse the brief thoroughly and let it air dry (To ensure the quality of the shorts, we recommend not using a tumble dryer. If using a dryer is necessary, set it to a low temperature.).
When the brief is completely dry, perform the brief test:
Take a cup of lukewarm saltwater (1 teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of water). Attach the transmitter to the brief. Plug the receiver into the outlet (or use batteries). Ensure that the receiver is turned on and the sound is properly set using the + button. Drop two teaspoons of this salt solution onto the front of the brief. This will trigger the alarm, and the LED will start to flash red. The alarm can be turned off by pressing the central LED button.
If the alarm still does not go off afterward, another issue may be at play. Please contact us by sending and email to info@rodger.nl, mentioning your order number, and we will work together to find a suitable solution.
3. The transmitter doesn't connect to the receiver
Is the battery correctly placed in the transmitter and is it not pairing with the bedwetting alarm? The pairing process goes as follows:
- Plug the receiver into the outlet and turn it on by pressing the central LED button; it will light up green.
- Press the – and + buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
- The central LED button will start flashing green: you now have 1 minute to hold the push buttons of the transmitter against the metal strip of the receiver. The transmitter and receiver are paired when the LED lights up green and the receiver emits a sound signal.
Has the alarm system been in use for a while? Have you tried replacing the battery? Check whether the battery in the transmitter is properly seated; for example, if a pin is bent, it may not make contact. By gently bending the pins outward, the transmitter may work again and can be paired with the bedwetting alarm.
